Happy New Year Amir.
In the USA we celebrate with champagne at midnight, in Korea everyone eats dduk guk (rice cake soup) - and you only age on the new year if you eat it (nobody ages on their birthday, just on the lunar new year).
What are the traditions in Iran on the New Year?

Regarding about edibles, we eat rice with some kind of herbs (and yeah garlic!) which served with Fish (Called Sabzi Polo Mahi).
